Plymouth Street Journal note from 27 May 2015
The picture below is of three of nine children that found our ministry last week. There is a Grandmother who is 52 years old, her daughter and I believe her granddaughter that we met with. They brought 5 of the children with them and two were under the age of one year. They told me that there were 9 children all under the age of 10. I gave them some frozen food that was left over from Ruby's Pantry, water, juice and we put some gas in their van. Then I called Karen and she contacted them about clothing for the children. Below is a note from Karen:
I spoke with two women on the phone at length last week about their situation. From my understanding, one woman had been evicted from her home and moved in with her daughter and either another daughter or granddaughter. Regardless of how the family tree is, there are three adult women living in a house with nine children between them all. Their situation sounded quite dire and the women admitted to being in need of clothing, food, and transportation. I took down names and sizes and went to many thrift sales to see if I could locate any of their needs. While some of the items were collected, we would be thrilled to see a few donations come in with hopes of making the children's lives a little more comfortable. Their clothing needs / wishes are for summer clothes, all of the children who walk do have one pair of shoes which will suffice for now. In addition to clothing they report needing paper products (t-paper, paper towels, diapers size 1 & 4, Pull-ups size 6) and food. They participate in food Pantry's but don't always have transportation to get to the locations. The clothing sizes are listed. Again, summer wear -- shorts, t-shirts, etc.

This is a big family and a lot to request help for, but we want to make sure the children are safe and cared for. Please consider donating any item for their care and let us know if you have any questions. Karen
