This is Jens Nielsen writing the street journal for Friday, February 20, 2015.
Brent and I arrived about 5:30pm, the weather was better then it had been in sometime and it was nice to have the the sun up just a little bit longer into the evening. From 5:30pm till about 6:30pm it was very slow. We only had 1-2 of our normal people stop by, however, we were happy to have Rev. David Huber stop by, as well as two members from First Presbyterian Church, who came and donated some much needed heavy winter coats and gloves.
When 6:30pm came around, we had a large rush of people come. Though we had many of our regulars stop by, we also had many new and younger people stop by before heading over to the shelter. We had an estimated count of 25-30 people, but there were plenty of others that went directly to the shelter.
As we continue through this winter season, please continue to hold these unprotected members of our community in your prayers.
